PTI moves LHC against arrests of workers ahead of Islamabad rally – HUM News

LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) on Wednesday moved the Lahore High Court (LHC) against the alleged arrests and harassment of its leaders and workers by the law-enforcement agencies (LEAs) in Punjab ahead of the party’s rally scheduled to be held at Tarnol in Islamabad on Thursday.

PTI Lawyers Forum Punjab President Zubair Kasana filed the petition.

On the other hand, Punjab Police have swung into action and taken over 35 persons into custody in order to prevent them from reaching Islamabad for the PTI’s ‘power show’.

Police in Lahore allegedly conducted over 55 raids late Tuesday night, including on the homes of PTI leaders Yasir Gilani and Hafiz Zeeshan and arrested Asghar Gujjar from Manawan, Abdul Karim Khan from Shahdara and Wajid Shah.
