PESHAWAR: The internal rift within Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) has intensified as Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur removed Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Member of National Assembly (MNA) Junaid Akbar from his role as focal person for MNAs. This decision comes in the wake of Akbar’s support for former provincial minister Shakeel Khan.
According to a notification issued by the Chief Minister’s Secretariat, Junaid Akbar has been de-notified from the position of Focal Person for MNAs in KP.
The notification also appointed MNA Shahid Khattak from NA-38 Karak as the new Focal Person for the Chief Minister. Shahid Khattak is tasked with managing communications between the provincial government and PTI MNAs in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Moreover, Provincial Minister for Food Zahir Shah Toru has dismissed reports of a planned meeting with PTI founder Imran Khan next week, along with Provincial Minister for Education Faisal Torki.

Following a visit to Adiala Jail on Saturday, where he met with Imran Khan, KP government spokesperson Barrister Saif issued a video message. In his statement, Saif claimed that Imran Khan has endorsed the Chief Minister’s decision to remove Shakeel Khan from the cabinet.
Sources indicate that PTI MPAs from Mardan, Swat, Dir, and several other districts are unhappy with the removal of Shakeel Khan from the cabinet.
