PTI in negotiations with the govt, Asad Qaiser confirms – HUM News

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and former speaker of the National Assembly Asad Qaiser has confirmed that PTI has been in negotiations with the government. “Contact has been made for negotiations, let’s see how seriously the government moves forward,” Qaiser told media on Thursday.

He said that the government is in communication with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, adding that the party is waiting to see the sincerity of the government in resolving differences. “If [government] will put us against the wall, then what other way do we have, other than to protest,” he added.

Addressing the statements regarding Bushra Bibi – spouse of former PTI chairman Imran Khan – Qaiser said that she is “apolitical”. He said, “Orders and instructions come only from Imran Khan”.

Talking about PTI’s planned protest on Sunday (November 24), he said that the party leaders are implementing a new strategy this time, whereby the workers from Peshawar, Mardan, Charsadda and Nowshera will reach Islamabad via Swabi, and the participants from the rest of the districts will use different routes to reach Islamabad.

Earlier, Imran Khan’s sister Aleema Khan had also shared that PTI Chairman Gohar Ali Khan and Gandapur have been tasked with negotiating with the government.

Meanwhile, the federal government has started deploying paramilitary forces on the main roads of the capital city. Containers have also been transported to multiple areas of the city to block the roads in the event of any untoward incident. Section 144 is also in place since Monday, until two months.
