ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has submitted an application to the Ministry of Interior, seeking permission for a meeting with PTI founder and former prime minister Imran Khan in Adiala jail.
Sources confirmed that the Ministry of Interior has received a formal request from the PTI for a meeting between PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan and Sahibzada Hamid Raza with the Imran Khan.
In the application, Barrister Gohar has said that the last meeting between the party’s legal team and Imran Khan took place on October 3.
The application has calls for an urgent should be arranged between Barrister Gohar and Sahibzada Hamid Raza and Imran Khan.
Earlier, the PTI said that it was ready to postpone its planned protest at Islamabad’s D-Chowk on October 15 if a party leader, or a doctor or a counsel was allowed to meet Imran Khan in Adiala jail.
The decision was taken at the PTI’s core committee meeting chaired by Barrister Salman Akram Raja last night.
The PTI’s core committee showed willingness to postpone the protest if the party leaders were allowed to meet Imran khan by October 14.
The core committee expressed serious concerns about the health of the former prime minister stating that a doctor, counsel or a party leader should be allowed to visit Imran Khan if the government wants the party to postpone the planned protest.
