Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif launches digital wallet for Ramadan relief package – HUM News

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has launched the digital wallet which will ensure direct financial assistance to all deserving individuals. He unveiled this while addressing the ceremony for the Ramadan Relief Package for the destitute.

He appreciated the teams who worked towards the Ministers and the team worked hard on the Ramazan relief package, and said that four million families will benefit from it. The sum to be received is at just PKR 5000 for one family.

“We will ensure transparency in the package, and as opposed to last year’s PKR seven billion this year’s package has been tripled and PKR 20 billion has been allocated, while 20 million people will receive benefits,” he said. PM Sharif added that the nation must pull in the weigh by supporting underprivileged individuals.

Referring to the people of Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, PM Sharif said that assistance would also be provided to them through Digital Wallet.

Commenting on the sociopolitical situation in the country especially in light of the bomb blast in Nowshera during Friday prayers, he said he strongly condemned the incident at Haqqania Madrassa.

“The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government must bring the culprits to justice. Security forces are making sacrifices to eliminate terrorism, and already 80,000 Pakistanis have sacrificed their lives in the war against terrorism,” he said shifting the responsibility to the provincial government. He maintained that terrorism had been eradicated from Pakistan but has resurfaced recently.

“We will not rest until terrorism is completely eliminated and everyone is aware of the reasons behind recent terrorist incidents,” he said.

PM Sharif also said that several billion-rupee cases are pending in courts without decisions, and those involved in corruption will be dealt with an iron hand.
