ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari has directed the authorities concerned to take all possible measures for the complete elimination of terrorists and to improve the security situation in Balochistan.
He issued the directives during a meeting with Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti who met in Islamabad to discuss the recent terrorist attacks in Balochistan and the security situation of the province.
In the meeting, the Balochistan chief minister of and the interior minister gave a briefing to the president regarding the recent incidents of terrorism in Balochistan and discussed the proposals regarding the enforcement of the writ of the state in the province.

The president emphasised the need for effective measures for the complete elimination of terrorists.
Earlier, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi said that there is no need for any major operation in Balochistan as the terrorists could be taken on by an SHO and the terrorists will get a “befitting response” soon.
Addressing a press conference with Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti after his arrival in Quetta, Mohsin Naqvi said that “the federal government stands by the Balochistan chief minister who will make a final decision. He said that a lot of work is being done on the issue of Balochistan.
He said that whatever the chief minister is asking for, he has the full support of the federation. “We are saddened by what happened in Balochistan. These incidents are not tolerable, we cannot be intimidated by these incidents of killings,” he said.
Mohsin Naqvi said that no major operation is needed against terrorists, and our forces know how to deal with them and they will be dealt with soon.
