Police rescues family trapped in Korang Nullah flood – HUM News


ISLAMABAD: Islamabad police on Wednesday rescued a family trapped in the flash floods in Korang Nullah. While a motorcyclist was swept away by the raging water.

 Torrential rains in the capital triggered flash floods in Korang Nullah, submerging nearby areas, roads and causing major trouble for residents.

According to Islamabad Police spokesperson, a family of six including three children were stuck inside a house as floodwater entered homes in the Sharifabad area. Rescue 15 officials reached the site immediately after getting the call and rescued the family from the flood waters.

Inspector General Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi appreciated the quick response and announced rewards for the rescue teams.

More rainfall expected across Pakistan

Meanwhile a motorcyclist was swept away by the raging flood waters. Rescue and police teams launched a search operation to locate him.

Eyewitnesses reported that another motorcycle carrying a man and a woman also slipped from the bridge into the water. Their condition remains unknown as of now.

Authorities have advised the public to avoid unnecessary travel near Korang Nullah and adjoining areas.

Rescue teams are on high alert and are continuously monitoring the situation.
