According to sources, Pakistan People Party (PPP) and Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) have backed off from their demand to establish constitutional courts and agreed with JUI-F on the formation of constitutional bench.

Sources further revealed that Maulana Fazl will share the new proposed draft with PTI today.

Barrister Gohar claims seven govt MNAs oppose constitutional amendment

It may be recalled that on Monday, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman rejected the government’s draft of the constitutional amendment saying that it could potentially infringe on individual freedoms.

He said that his party had raised objections to the government’s draft amendments “that would undermine both judicial and public rights.”

However, after discussion with the PPP leadership, many provisions have been withdrawn.

“Today, is the day of big and positive news,” Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Senator Irfan Siddiqui earlier said. “Hopefully all drafts will be merged into one,” Siddiqui said.
