The fee for local candidates is set at Rs9,000, rising to Rs13,000 with a late fee. For overseas applicants, the fee is Rs45,000 and Rs55,000 with a late fee.
The test will feature 180 multiple-choice questions, with 15 per cent at a higher difficulty level.
PARENTS PROTEST AGAINST FEE HIKE
The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has significantly increased the MDCAT fee, a move that has drawn concerns from students and parents.
In 2024, the MDCAT fee was Rs7,000, while in 2023 it was Rs5,000. This year, it has been raised to Rs 9,000.
PMDC has set the MDCAT test fee at Rs. 9000, which is unfair. Last year it was Rs. 6000, and four years ago only Rs. 1500. In comparison, the CSS exam, which has 12 papers, costs just Rs. 2200. This sudden increase in MDCAT fee is unjust and needs to be reviewed.#PMDC#MDCAT pic.twitter.com/4NTplbPq9v

Last year, a total of 32,977 candidates appeared for the exam across Pakistan. Based on that figure, PMDC’s revenue from the test this year is expected to reach Rs2.96 billion.
Separately, the schedule for CSS 2026 examinations has also been announced.
