PM Sharif, MBS discuss trade, investment and regional cooperation in Riyadh – HUM News


RIYADH: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman in Riyadh, where they discussed regional and international matters.

According to the Prime Minister’s Office, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar, Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir, and senior members of both countries’ cabinets were also present during the meeting.

During the meeting, both leaders discussed matters of mutual interest.

Earlier, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif arrived in Riyadh on a three-day visit to attend the 9th edition of the Future Investment Initiative (FII) conference.

The delegation included Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb, and Information Minister Attaullah Tarar.

At King Khalid International Airport, the prime minister and his delegation were received by Riyadh’s Deputy Governor Prince Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz, Saudi Ambassador to Pakistan Nawaf bin Saeed Al-Malki, and Pakistan’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Ahmad Farooq.

The Future Investment Initiative in Riyadh brings together global leaders, investors, policymakers, and prominent figures from various sectors. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will represent Pakistan and share the country’s perspective on sustainable development, economic inclusion, innovation, and evolving global geopolitics.

During his visit, Shehbaz Sharif will hold meetings with Saudi leadership to further enhance cooperation in trade, investment, energy, and manpower. The discussions will also cover regional and global issues of mutual concern.

The prime minister will also meet world leaders and heads of international organizations attending the FII to discuss opportunities for investment and sustainable development in Pakistan.

Earlier, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia signed a landmark Strategic Mutual Defence Agreement (SMDA) which said that “any aggression against either country shall be considered an aggression against both”.
