ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has approved changes to the civil servant promotion rules, according to a new notification issued by the Establishment Division.
As per the notification, a Grade 22 promotion case will only be considered twice. If an officer fails to get promoted after two reviews, they will not be reconsidered.

Additionally, regardless of their service group, the officer will be deemed retired while retaining their previous grade.
A notification regarding these amendments has been published in the Gazette of Pakistan.
