PHC issues notices over termination of caretaker govt hires

PESHAWAR: The Peshawar High Court (PHC) has issued notices to provincial government for terminating employees hired during caretaker government.

During hearing on the petition filed against the dismissal of employees recruited in the caretaker government, Justice Arshad Ali and Justice Khurshid Iqbal of the PHC issued notices to the government and other parties concerned. The court has sought responses from Secretary Law and Secretary Establishment, in the next hearing.

The counsel of the petitioners informed the court that thousands of people were recruited in government departments during the caretaker government’s tenure. However, now the provincial government has brought new legislation to dismiss those employees.
