Petrol prices likely to drop from March 16 – HUM News

ISLAMABAD: Petrol prices in Pakistan are expected to be reduced by Rs 14 per litre starting March 16 for the next 15 days following a decline in global crude prices.

Reports suggest that the ex-depot price of petrol, currently at Rs255.63 per litre, may drop by Rs14.16 to Rs241.47 per litre, providing significant relief to consumers.

Similarly, diesel prices, which currently stand at Rs258.64 per litre, are expected to decrease by Rs8.70, bringing the new price to Rs249.94 per litre.

Since diesel is primarily used for transportation of essential goods, this reduction could impact commodity prices, benefiting the public.

The price of kerosene oil is also expected to decrease by Rs10.33, lowering it from Rs168.12 to Rs157.79 per litre.

Light diesel oil, widely used in industries, may see a price cut of Rs7.12, reducing its cost from Rs153.34 to Rs146.22 per litre.

With the reduction in petrol prices from March 16, consumers can expect great relief.

Additionally, K-Electric consumers could receive a relief of Rs4.84 per unit under January’s fuel cost adjustment. This would collectively benefit K-Electric users by Rs 4.69 billion.

K-Electric has submitted a petition to NEPRA seeking approval for this adjustment, with a hearing scheduled for March 20.

While K-Electric has proposed a reduction of Rs 4.84 per unit, a final decision will be made after considering all relevant factors.
