KARACHI: The Organic Meat Company Limited (TOMCL) has secured export orders worth $7.5 million for cooked and heat-treated frozen boneless beef to be shipped to China during the financial year 2025-26.
The company disclosed the development in a filing to the Pakistan Stock Exchange on Wednesday, calling it another major breakthrough in its expansion into high-value international markets.
TOMCL said the China-bound orders highlight its compliance with the country’s strict sanitary and phytosanitary (SPS) standards and its ability to supply fully cooked, export-grade halal beef in line with Chinese food safety regulations.
The orders also reflect rising demand in China for ready-to-process halal protein products, particularly from the food service and retail sectors.
The company added that the development further strengthens agricultural and food trade ties between Pakistan and China under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) framework.
In August, the TOMCL became the first Pakistani meat producer to secure direct export approval to Carrefour (Majid Al-Futtaim Hypermarkets LLC) across the United Arab Emirates, marking a significant breakthrough in Pakistan’s halal meat export industry.
Earlier in August, the company secured export orders from Tajikistan valued at $3.24 million, to be executed during the current fiscal year. In June, it became the first Pakistani meat firm to secure export orders from Europe.
According to a material disclosure filed with the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), TOMCL achieved this milestone after successfully passing Carrefour’s stringent systems, hygiene, and operational excellence audit with an impressive score of 94.89 per cent.
In February this year, the National Food Agency of Indonesia announced plans to import 100,000 metric tonnes of buffalo meat from Pakistan this year.
