ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and the World Economic Forum (WEF) on Wednesday reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening their long-standing partnership, with a focus on sustainable development and economic cooperation.
WEF Managing Director and Member of the Managing Board Saadia Zahidi called on Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Islamabad to discuss avenues of collaboration.
Prime Minister Sharif appreciated the WEF’s continued engagement with Pakistan, particularly through its annual meetings in Davos, Switzerland.

He highlighted the country’s recent economic recovery and expressed interest in expanding cooperation with the WEF in key areas, including economic growth, gender inclusion, vocational training, and digitisation.
Zahidi acknowledged Pakistan’s positive economic trajectory and commended the reform efforts under Prime Minister Sharif’s leadership.
The meeting concluded with both sides expressing a renewed commitment to advancing mutual goals and deepening cooperation for inclusive and sustainable development.
