ISLAMABAD: The Foreign Office on Tuesday addressed reports about a senior Pakistani diplomat being denied entry into the United States, stating that the matter is under investigation.
FO Spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan, in a statement, confirmed that Ambassador KK Ahsan Wagan—Pakistan’s envoy to Turkmenistan—was on a private visit to the US when the incident occurred.
“The Foreign Ministry is looking into the matter,” he said, without providing further details.

Diplomatic sources revealed that Wagan was stopped by US immigration officials upon arrival at Los Angeles International Airport and was later deported.
Reports suggest that the decision may be linked to administrative complaints from his previous posting in the US. However, American authorities have not issued any official explanation.
Wagan, who previously served in Washington and Muscat, was posted to Ashgabat, Turkmenistan, six months ago.
While speculation continues, the Foreign Office has refrained from making any conclusive statements. “We are gathering details and will share updates as needed,” the spokesperson added.
