ISLAMABAD: Pakistani security forces on Friday gave a strong and effective response to unprovoked firing from across the Afghan border at multiple locations, security sources told HUM News English.
According to the sources, Afghan forces opened unprovoked fire at Pakistan Army positions in Angoor Adda, Bajaur, Kurram, Dir, Chitral, and Baramcha sectors. The firing was reportedly aimed at facilitating the infiltration of Khawarij (terrorists) into Pakistani territory.
Security sources said that Pakistani troops, who were alert and fully prepared, responded swiftly and decisively to the aggression. “Pakistan Army’s vigilant border posts retaliated with full force, effectively targeting several Afghan positions,” the sources added.
They said Pakistan’s timely and targeted action destroyed multiple Afghan border posts, killing dozens of Afghan soldiers and Khawarij militants. Following the retaliatory strikes, several Taliban soldiers reportedly abandoned their posts and fled, leaving behind numerous bodies.

The sources noted that the latest act of aggression from Afghanistan came at a time when the Afghan Acting Foreign Minister is visiting India.
