No room for war in nuclear environment, army chief warns India – HUM News

KAKUL: Pakistan’s Army Chief, Field Marshal Asim Munir, on Saturday warned India that there is “no room for war in a nuclear environment.”

Addressing the passing-out parade at the Pakistan Military Academy (PMA) Kakul, the army chief said, “I advise and categorically warn India’s military leadership that there is no space for war in a nuclear environment.”

While commending Pakistan’s “clear victory” in the border conflict with India in May, he urged New Delhi to resolve core issues in accordance with international norms, saying Pakistan would neither be intimidated nor pressured by threats, and that any provocation would be met with a swift and decisive response.

“Any escalation that could bring catastrophic consequences for the entire region and beyond will rest squarely on India’s shoulders,” he warned.

Field Marshal Munir said that if a new conflict were to erupt, Pakistan’s response would surpass the aggressor’s expectations.

“As the gap between warfare and communication domains narrows, the reach and destructive potential of our weapon systems will shatter India’s misperception of its geographic advantage,” he said.

He asserted that the military and economic damage India would suffer in such a scenario would be far greater than it could imagine.

Gen Munir noted that the Pakistan Army, battle-hardened from fighting irregular warfare for over two decades, has now demonstrated its conventional capabilities with precision and resolve. “From the creation of Pakistan to this day, our armed forces — with the nation’s unwavering support — have defended the country’s external and internal frontiers with faith, pride, and determination,” he said.

Highlighting recent operations such as “Maraka-e-Haq and “Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos”, he said these reflected the troops’ commitment and strengthened public confidence.

He added that Pakistan had demonstrated its defensive capability by downing advanced Rafale jets, targeting multiple Indian bases including S-400 systems, and showcasing multidomain warfare expertise.

“The entire nation, regardless of age, creed, or gender, stood united as a steel wall, breathing new life into patriotism and national spirit,” the Field Marshal said.

He termed Pakistan’s recent success as a reminder of the nation’s glorious past victories over an adversary “blinded by arrogance and delusions of dominance.”

The army chief accused India of using terrorism for political purposes through unilateral accusations, rejection of impartial investigations, and reliance on fabricated evidence.

“Pakistan, on the other hand, earned recognition and praise both domestically and internationally for its legitimate and clear victory,” he said, adding that this success had united the nation and strengthened its defence resolve, especially restoring the younger generation’s faith in the armed forces as the cornerstone of national power.

“I assure the nation that with Allah’s help and the people’s support, not an inch of this sacred land will ever be lost,” he said.

He paid tribute to the brave citizens, soldiers, sailors, airmen, and martyrs who sacrificed their lives during testing times. “Our national leadership, bureaucracy, scholars, scientists, media, academia, and above all, our youth deserve appreciation for standing resilient against aggression,” he added.

Munir said the martyrs who laid down their lives for the creation and defence of Pakistan hold the highest honour. “We owe our freedom and sovereignty to their sacrifices,” he remarked.

Pakistan — A Net Regional Stabiliser

Field Marshal Munir said the world was witnessing growing “uncertainty and instability,” where the use of violence for political ends was increasingly visible. Amid this chaos, he said, Pakistan had emerged as a “net regional stabilizer”, successfully strengthening its relations with global and regional powers, particularly Muslim countries.

He highlighted Pakistan’s continued contribution to regional and global peace, including its role in UN peacekeeping missions.

Referring to the recently signed “Pakistan-Saudi Arabia Strategic Mutual Defence Pact”, Munir called it a milestone in fostering regional stability and brotherly ties.

He added that Pakistan had also played a “positive and sincere role” in facilitating peaceful talks with Iran and that its ties with all Muslim nations were growing “at an extraordinary pace.”

Praising Pakistan’s “all-weather strategic partnership” with China, he said the renewed and expanding relations with the United States were also a “welcoming and encouraging development.”

Pakistan’s Role in Gaza Peace Efforts

The army chief lauded US President Donald Trump’s “strategic leadership and personal efforts” toward peace in conflict-ridden regions, calling them “truly commendable.”

He reaffirmed that Pakistan would continue to strengthen relations with key global and regional partners in the interest of peace, security, and development.

“Pakistan played a vital role in the ceasefire and peace efforts in Gaza,” he said, adding that both the Kashmir and Palestine issues remain “stains on the conscience of the world.” He called for a permanent ceasefire in Gaza and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state, alongside the resolution of the Kashmir dispute in line with UN resolutions.

‘Unbreakable bond between people and armed forces’

Addressing the graduating cadets at PMA, Field Marshal Munir said that they were about to join “one of the finest armies in the world,” respected globally for its professionalism and courage.

He urged them to uphold complete loyalty to Pakistan, its armed forces, and their sacred duty.

“Our enemies are trying to create a divide between the people and the armed forces,” he cautioned. “I remind them — the bond between our people and the military is unbreakable and invincible.”

He said the defence of Pakistan was sacred, and no responsibility was greater than safeguarding the country’s security and sovereignty.

Gen Munir emphasised that Pakistan’s defence doctrine rests on credible deterrence and constant preparedness, covering the full spectrum of capabilities. “As a professional force, we’ve enhanced our conventional strength through ideological and technological evolution, making it dynamic, integrated, and resilient,” he said.

He stressed intellectual readiness, technological advancement, innovation, and adaptability to tackle contemporary threats.

At the outset of his speech, the army chief congratulated the graduating male and female cadets on their exceptional display of discipline and professionalism.

He also congratulated cadets from friendly countries — including Malaysia, Nepal, Palestine, Qatar, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Yemen, Mali, Maldives, and Nigeria — on completing their training at PMA.

“This moment is a source of pride for all of you and reflects the enduring bonds of military cooperation and international brotherhood,” he said.

Field Marshal Munir praised PMA Kakul for its legacy of excellence, saying the institution “has always stood as a pillar of military mastery, and today’s parade is a testament to that proud tradition.”
