ISLAMABAD: A five-member Constitutional Bench headed by Justice Aminuddin Khan resumed hearing of the Super Tax case.
Counsel of the private sector companies, Makhdoom Ali Khan, restarted his arguments, saying “The purpose of the super tax was clear. It was to be used for the rehabilitation of the affected areas.”
He added that no details have been given anywhere regarding the tax since 2015. “Even the Supreme Court’s decision has not been implemented in the case,” Makhdoom Khan said.

The court asked, “If a [law] like this is brought tomorrow, and is passed by the [parliament] houses, will it become an act?” The counsel answered, “First, a suitable policy has to be made to pass an act.”
Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar, addressing the counsel said, “Have you seen the court decisions of Karachi and Peshawar?”
The counsel replied, “The arguments of the lawyers in the court decisions of Karachi and Peshawar are the same.”
