ISLAMABAD: The National Highways and Motorway Police (NHMP) recently conducted inspections to combat overcharging and expired food items in service areas, resulting in fines totaling Rs 350,000 for violations of Food Authority Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
According to NHMP North Zone spokesman Muhammad Saqib, teams made up of Assistant Commissioners, Motorway Police, and Food Authority officials inspected various locations on the M-1, M-2, Saat Expressway, and Hazara Expressway.

During these checks, they found expired products at multiple outlets, which were discarded immediately.
Several outlets were also sealed for overcharging, and the total fines imposed amounted to Rs 350,000.
The spokesman emphasized that strict measures are being enforced against violators on the motorways to ensure that customers receive hygienic food.
