ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) President Nawaz Sharif and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto held a meeting on Thursday to discuss the political and economic situation in the country.
Both the leaders met at the Punjab House in Islamabad in the presence of other prominent leaders from both sides. They appreciated the unprecedented decrease in inflation, the policy rate cut, the overall economy and the all-time high remittances sent by overseas Pakistanis.
Nawaz said that all political parties should unite on a single platform to strengthen democray where all get prompt justice and state’s institutions are respected with all citizens treated equally.

The PMPL-N leader said that the signing of the Charter of Democracy in 2006 was a right decision as that helped political parties to complete their five-year tenure. It was this charter that strengthened democracy in the country, Nawaz said.
The former prime minister highlighted that the Charter of Democracy also enabled all parties to stop meddling of undemocratic forces that otherwises spearheaded public rallies and fueled anarchy in the country.

Without naming PTI founder Imran Khan, Nawaz said that all political parties should unite to scupper the designs of a single person who is bent on pushing the country into darkness. He also appreciated Bilawal’s political role during these tumultous times.
Bilawal also appreciated Nawaz Sharif’s political vision, his thoughts for public and his political experience and sagacity, stating that the nation needs him for more such contributions in the future.
PP leaders Yusuf Raza Gilani, Sherry Rehman and Pervaiz Ashraf and PML-N leaders Ahsan Iqbal, Irfan Siddiqui, Rana Sanaullah and Murtaza Abbas were also present.
