Muharram: Bus services in Karachi suspended – HUM News


KARACHI: The Green Line Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) service in Karachi will remain suspended on the 8th, 9th, and 10th of Muharram due to security concerns, a spokesperson confirmed on Friday.

In addition, seven of the ten routes of the Peoples Bus Service will be completely shut down on the 9th and 10th, while five routes will be partially affected on the 8th of Muharram.

To help commuters during this period, Karachi Traffic Police has issued a detailed traffic diversion plan.

As per the advisory, MA Jinnah Road will be sealed off from Guru Mandir to Tower for Ashura-related security arrangements.

Residential building falls in Layari, residents trapped

Alternative routes have been arranged. Commuters from Nazimabad should use Lasbela Chowk and travel through Garden to reach Nishtar Park. Those coming from Liaquatabad are advised to turn right at Teen Hatti and take Martin Road.

Travellers moving from Hassan Square towards PP Chowrangi can either take Kashmir Road under the Jail Flyover and proceed via Shahrah-e-Quaideen to Society Light Signal, or go over the flyover towards Teen Hatti and continue through Lasbela Chowk to Nishtar Road.
