ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast more rains in the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi for the next 24 hours. While heavy rainfall on Monday night triggered high alerts in various areas of the twin cities.
According to PMD, Islamabad’s H-8 sector received the highest rainfall at 66mm, while 59mm was recorded in Shamsabad. Rawal Dam’s full capacity is 1,752 feet, while the current water level has reached 1,735.5 feet.

Similarly, in Simly Dam, the current level has touched 2,247.55 feet against its capacity of 2,315 feet.
WASA Managing Director said that the water level in Nullah Lai at Katarian was recorded at 12.5 feet, and at Gawalmandi Bridge it stood at 6.5 feet.
Authorities have advised residents of low-lying areas to avoid unnecessary movement.
Meanwhile, rain is also expected in Murree, Galiyat, Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Attock, Chakwal, Gujrat, Sialkot, Gujranwala, and Narowal.
Most districts of Sindh will remain hot and humid, while Gilgit-Baltistan is likely to stay dry. In Azad Kashmir, rain with thunder and gusty winds is expected.
