More rainfall expected across Pakistan – HUM News


ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast rainfall accompanied by strong winds and thunderstorms in various parts of the country over the next 24 to 48 hours.

The weather system is expected to affect regions in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sindh, Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Kashmir.

ISLAMABAD AND PUNJAB

Rain with gusty winds is expected in Islamabad and its surrounding areas. Showers are also likely in Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Attock, Chakwal, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Kasur, Mandi Bahauddin, Chiniot, Okara, Sahiwal, Sheikhupura, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Nankana Sahib, Faisalabad, Khushab, Sargodha, Mianwali, Bhakkar, Layyah, Multan, Khanewal, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Kot Addu, and Rahim Yar Khan.

KHYBER PAKHTUNKHWA

Scattered heavy rain is likely in Peshawar and Mardan. Rain is also expected in Dir, Chitral, Swat, Kohistan, Malakand, Shangla, Battagram, Buner, Bajaur, Mohmand, Khyber, Orakzai, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Swabi, Hangu, Kurram, Kohat, Waziristan, Bannu, and Dera Ismail Khan.

BALOCHISTAN

Barakhan, Kohlu, Musakhel, Dera Bugti, Loralai, and Zhob may receive rain. Thunderstorms with strong winds are also expected in Dera Ghazi Khan and surrounding areas.

SINDH

According to PMD, rain is likely in Karachi and other coastal areas of Sindh.

GILGIT-BALTISTAN AND AZAD KASHMIR

A few areas in Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir are also expected to receive rain with thunder and lightning.

The Met Office has advised citizens, especially those in low-lying areas, to remain alert due to the risk of urban flooding.

Travellers and tourists have also been urged to stay updated on weather conditions and take necessary precautions.
