ISLAMABAD/RAWALPINDI: The metro bus service in the twin cities – Islamabad and Rawalpindi will be suspended from October 14 to 17 due to the upcoming Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit in the capital.

The decision, taken by the district administration, is part of the broader security arrangements for the high-profile event.
Metro bus services will continue as usual today (Sunday, October 13), and halt operations over the next four days.
The SCO summit, scheduled for October 15-16 in Islamabad, will see participation from key leaders, including the prime ministers of China, Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.
Islamabad traffic police issues special plan for SCO summit
Before this, the district administration has also issued orders for wedding halls and markets to be closed during the summit days. The Prime Minister’s office also issued orders for the diplomats to curtail their activities during the SCO summit.
Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) has also issued an alternate traffic plan as part of the security arrangements.
