WEB DESK: Westerly winds will enter the northern parts of the country this evening, Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) said on Sunday.
These Westerly winds will continue until March 16, PMD said. As a result of this new weather phenomenon, rains are expected in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Attock, Jhelum and Chakwal, starting Monday.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, rainy weather is predicted for Peshawar, Charsadda, Haripur, Kurram, Bannu, DI Khan and Waziristan from March 10. Moreover, thunderstorms are expected in Mardan, Nowshera, Swabi, Karak, Kohat and Khyber. Snowfall is expected in upper region of the province as well.
Another rain spell expected next week
For Punjab, PMD predicts that rain will pour down on Lahore, Sargodha, Sialkot, Narowal and Faisalabad from March 12 to 16. Jhang and Mianwali will also get a heavy dose of rainy weather.
Parts of Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, including Chitral, Dir, Swat, Shangla, Kohistan, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Battagram will also get rain this week.
On March 14 and 15, Multan, Rajanpur, Layyah, Quetta, Ziarat and Chaman are especially poised to get a heavier downpour, PMD said.
