Local channel journalist gunned down in Ghotki – HUM News


KARACHI: Bachal Ghuniyo, a local reporter for the Sindhi news channel Awaz TV, was shot dead by unidentified gunmen in the town of Ronti, near Ghotki, on Tuesday morning.

Bachal Ghuniyo was in a field near his home when the assailants opened fire, killing him instantly, according to the police. His body was transported to the Ubaro Tehsil Hospital.

Police are investigating whether the attack was a robbery or a targeted killing, citing the possibility of personal motives.

Journalists gathered at the Ubaro Tehsil Hospital following the incident. Ghuniyo was known for reporting on criminal activities in the area.

This incident comes just two months after the murder of another journalist, Nasrullah Gadani, in Mirpur Mathelo, Sindh. Gadani was also shot dead by unidentified gunmen.

SINDH CM CONDOLES

Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has taken notice of the murder of local journalist Bachal Ghanyo and expressed his condolences to the bereaved family.

The Chief Minister has directed law enforcement agencies to swiftly apprehend and bring the killers to justice.

SINDH HOME MINISTER ORDERS INVESTIGATION

Sindh Home Minister Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjhar has taken notice of the murder of local journalist Bachal Ghanyo and extended his condolences to the grieving family.

The Home Minister has requested a detailed report from SSP Ghotki and urged the authorities to swiftly bring the culprits to justice.

He also emphasized the use of advanced technology in the hunt for the killers and called for an intensified operation to prevent further violence.
