LHC judge’s longtime staffer commits suicide with official rifle – HUM News


LAHORE: A dispatcher (Naib Qasid) of Lahore High Court (LHC) Judge Justice Jawad Hassan committed suicide after shooting himself with an official rifle.

The deceased, identified as Hasnain, had been serving as the dispatcher of Justice Jawad Hassan for the past 25 years.

Eyewitnesses said that after Sehri, Hasnain asked a police officer to hand over his rifle and leave his room. He then locked himself in a room and ended his life by shooting himself.

Upon receiving news of the incident, Justice Jawad Hassan left for Lahore from Rawalpindi.

Meanwhile, the LHC registrar and additional registrar protocol also reached the judge’s residence.

Justice Jawad Hassan is presently serving at the Lahore High Court’s Rawalpindi bench.

Meanwhile, a police officer was taken hostage and brutally assaulted by drug dealers in the Phulgran Athal Chowk area of Islamabad.

To rescue the officer, the police have launched an operation with the help of the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD).

Sources said that the CTD team was facing problems in carrying out the operation due to darkness and low visibility.

According to sources, an exchange of fire also took place between the police and the drug dealers, prompting the police to summon armored vehicle for reinforcement.
