Kundi says no-confidence motion is ‘our democratic right’ – HUM News

ISLAMABAD: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi on Thursday described bringing a no-confidence against Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur as a democratic and recalled that they had also changed a prime minister through same process.

He was referring to the ouster of Imran Khan, a move which the PTI founder described as a “US conspiracy”, but later the PTI retracted from their stance. However, the party used this claim for around one year to fuel public sentiment.

The governor noted that the number of opposition members will swell to 54 in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, with the members elected on reserved seats taking their oath.

The House has a total of is 145 members.

Also on Thursday, Special Assistant to the PM Rana Sanaullah refuted the reports about the plans to get the PTI’s provincial government removed. The meetings with political leaders like Maulana Fazlur Rehman were part of the democracy, not linked to any change in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, he added.

WE ARE WAITING

Kundi, who was speaking in HUM News programme “Faisala Aap Ka” hosted by Asma Shirazi, said “we are waiting to see get things changed” and they had waited for four years to bring no-confidence motion in the National Assembly.

At the same time, he made it clear that they did not believe in “horse-trading” and said the no-confidence motion was their right after obtaining the “required numbers”.

GENUINE PTI MEMBERS

As a possible hint at how they will get the required numbers, the governor claimed that there was anger among the “genuine PTI members”.

They can see that the leaders are not following on the party agenda and wondering which kind of gang has been imposed on them, according to Kundi – a PPP leader who is from the Dera Ismail Khan region just like Gandapur.

ON MINUS IMRAN

When asked, Aleema Khan, the sister of the incarcerated PTI founder, had recently admitted that Imran had been “minus-ed”.

And on Thursday, Kundi remarked that Aleema had realised [the fact] after too much delay.

The PTI leaders want to see Imran in the prison, so that they can continue with their plunder [of government resources in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa], he said.

ON GANDAPUR

A day earlier, the chief minister had dared the Centre to impose governor’s rule in the province and claimed about a conspiracy against his government.

However, Kundi has his on views to share.

According to the governor, Kundi, instead of talking about alleged “cruel treatment”, should tell the people whose guest he was during the election days.

Kundi must also tell the people who had been trying to convince during those days for “providing an opportunity to serve”.
