Kohat: two CTD personnel killed in targeted attack – HUM News


PESHAWAR: The Inspector General (IG) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Zulfiqar Hameed has taken notice of the targeted killing of two Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) personnel in Kohat. He has directed the Additional IG CTD to form special investigative teams, and stressed immediate arrest of those behind the attack.

According to police officials, unidentified assailants opened fire on CTD personnel, Zahid and Mustafa on Tandah Dam Road as they were heading to work, killing them on the spot.

Zulfiqar Hameed vowed that the fight against terrorism would continue and stated that the Additional IG CTD will oversee the investigation.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi condemned the attack and paid tribute to the slain officers, offering condolences to their families. He said that KP police personnel had given remarkable sacrifices in the fight against terrorism.

Last week, 13 civilians and five soldiers were killed when suicide bombers drove two explosive-laden cars into an army compound in Bannu. Four children were among those killed in the attack, which involved four suicide bombers, with fighting raging into the early hours of March 5. Before that a blast in Nowshera on February 28 left Maulana Hamid Ul Haq amongst six dead.
