ISLAMABAD: Fertilizer Review Committee meets under Federal Minister Rana Tanveer Hussain
The meeting conducted a detailed review of stock position of DAP and Urea fertilizers for Rabi season. The committee expressed satisfaction over the existing stock of fertilizers in the country.
There is no shortage of both DAP and urea fertilizers in the country, Rana Tanveer said, adding that this meeting was called because the demand for DAP fertilizer is increasing in the country. “DAP off-take has increased by 44 percent,” he said.
The demand for fertilizers have gone up due to Kisan card issued by the Punjab government, Rana Tanveer informed, adding that the government has ensured that additional stock of fertilizer is available to meet the requirement of farmers.
Farmers will get extra yield with proper application of DAP in Rabi season, the federal minister said.
“Provinces should take strict action against hoarding and price manipulation,” Rana Tanveer said in his concluding remarks.
