KARACHI: In the aftermath of the tragic Karsaz traffic accident, a report has been released regarding the mental condition of the female driver involved, who was accused of causing the deaths of a father and daughter while also damaging five motorcycles.
The report, issued by the psychiatry department of Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center (JPMC) in Karachi, confirms that the mental state of the accused is sound.

Dr. Chuni Lal, head of the psychiatry department at Jinnah Hospital, stated that the accused was brought to the hospital on August 19. Upon arrival, her condition was initially poor, but after assessment, Dr. Lal affirmed that she is mentally stable.
Although the accused’s family claimed she had a history of mental illness, they were unable to provide any documentation to support their assertion.
Dr. Lal further noted that the accused did not exhibit any self-harming behaviour during her stay at the hospital, leading to her subsequent discharge. The confirmation of the accused’s mental fitness sheds clarity on the ongoing investigation into the Karsaz traffic accident.
