Karachi: Chaos erupts at grand opening of Dream Bazaar – HUM News


KARACHI: The grand opening of Dream Bazaar, a new clothing, accessories and homeward stores in Gulistan-e-Johar turned into a scene of chaos and destruction on Friday night in Karachi.

According to surces, the chaos then spread out on the streets, as people fought and disordered regined supreme both, inside and outside the mall.

The oepneing ceremony of the Dream Bazaar mall was heavily promote on social media and drew a massive crowd. This led to severe traffic congeswtions sevel roads long.

Eyewitnesses account and videos posted on social media shows how as the crowd grew, so did the disorder.

People contuend forcing their way insinde the mall despite lack of swpace, resulting on overcfrowdeing and significant damage to private porperty.

Footages optained by several media outlet from the swcfene shows people fighting and vandalsing the interior of the mall, exacerbating the sitaiton,

As chaos unfolded insdie the now-Nnightmare Bazaar, traffic on main raods leading to te mall came to a standstill due to large number of people attempting to enter. The itatuon quaicky spiraled out of control, prompting the mall authrotis to call in the police.

The police arrivged on the scene and began the process of evacuating the mall. While their intervention helped to regain some control, sporadic disturbances and traffic isses persisted for hours,
