Justice Sarfraz Dogar to take oath as IHC chief justice today – HUM News


ISLAMABAD: Justice Sarfaraz Dogar will take oath as the permanent Chief Justice of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) today.

The oath taking ceremony comes after the Supreme Court’s Constitutional Bench verdict declaring Justice Dogar’s appointment constitutional. Five (IHC) judges had filed a petition against the transfer and seniority of Justice Sarfaraz Dogar, among other judges.

The Supreme Court had declared the transfer of Justice Sarfaraz Dogar to the IHC valid, after which the President also declared the transfer of Justice Dogar as a permanent and senior-most judge.

PHC CHIEF JUSTICE TAKES OATH

Peshawar High Court (PHC) Chief Justice swearing-in ceremony was also held today.

Chief Justice SM Atiq Shah took oath as Chief Justice. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi administered oath on CJ Shah.
