LUKKI MARWAT: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has strongly criticised the ruling elite, including the provincial government, asserting that the usurption of resources will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
Addressing a public gathering in Lakki Marwat, Maulana Fazlur Rehman stated that the usurtion of resources belonging to the people is unacceptable, and he vowed not to allow anyone to take control of what rightfully belongs to the future generations.
He emphasised that no one has the right to infringe upon his people’s rights, adding, “Today, global powers aim to erase the religious identity of our country.”
The JUI-F leader pointed out that even trusted allies like China and Saudi Arabia are losing confidence in Pakistan. He questioned why India’s forex reserves stand at $500 billion while Pakistan struggles with less than $10 billion.

“Why is India advancing today? Has anyone thought about it? Why is Afghanistan’s currency stronger than ours? Afghanistan may be in ruins, yet it is still ahead of us,” he said.
He expressed concern that people are being intimidated, noting that both the economy and the country have been devastated.
Rehman also criticised the ongoing attacks on madrasas, stating that their registration has been halted and accusing the authorities of blaming these institutions for terrorism. “You are stripping away our dignity,” he said.
He said that all minorities in Pakistan are safe and that Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam stands as their protector.
Criticizing the government’s actions, he said, “We protected schools and colleges. Why can’t these people protect madrasas? We will defend these madrasas — no matter what happens, these religious institutions will not be destroyed.”
He also highlighted his party’s past efforts in leading movements and amending the constitution, expressing solidarity with Baloch and Pakhtun people.
In conclusion, he presented a resolution, stating, “We seek peace, but we also seek strength. We demand the right to our land’s resources, and the people’s rights to these resources must be upheld.”
