ISLAMABAD: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) has announced a nationwide protest march on April 20 to condemn Israeli aggression in Palestine.
Party chief Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman, announcing the JI protest march during a press conference in Islamabad said that caravans from across the country will gather in the federal capital and stage a major protest outside the US Embassy. “This will be one of the biggest protest marches in the country’s history,” he claimed.
In solidarity with Palestinians, JI has also announced a nationwide strike on April 22. Hafiz Naeem clarified there is no confusion about the strike, adding, “We will go ahead with it.”

Speaking strongly against Israel and the United States, Hafiz Naeem said people around the world are filled with hatred against both for their actions. “Israel is killing innocent children with bullets. The global outrage is real,” he said.
He also criticised US foreign policy, calling it a promoter of violence. “America has once again proved itself a terrorist state, the country that bombed Hiroshima and Nagasaki.”
Referring to Hamas, he said, “They won through democratic means, but their government was never allowed to function.
Now they are being asked to surrender their arms. But until the people rise again and again, the massacre will continue.”
Calling Israel an expansionist state, the JI leader urged Arab countries and Pakistan to consider military-level strategies. “We must unite against Israel.”
Hafiz Naeem stressed that the movement is peaceful and people are being mobilised for a humanitarian cause. He also appealed for a complete boycott of products that benefit Zionist interests. “We know what needs to be boycotted,” he said.
Criticising major political parties, he questioned why they remain silent on Israel’s actions. “Those who visited Israel on Pakistani passports must be held accountable. The government must share what action has been taken against them.”
He added that a protest will also be held in Multan on April 18.
