Jaffar Express: Information desk set up at Rawalpindi station – HUM News


RAWALPINDI: To facilitate the relatives of the Jaffar Express attack passengers, railway authorities have set up an information desk at the Rawalpindi Railway station.

Jaffar Express, transporting more than 400 passengers from Quetta to Peshawar, was attacked by a group of terrorists. Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) has accepted the responsibility for the attack. More than 17 hours after the attack, the security operation is still underway.

Military officials confirmed that 155 passengers have been rescued and 27 terrorists have been killed, but no verified information is available about the remaining individuals.

A special desk has been set up at Rawalpindi station for information on Jaffar Express passengers, says Railways spokesperson.

The passengers can obtain travel details from the information desk, which remains in contact with Peshawar and Quetta stations, according to the DS Railway.

JAFFAR EXPRESS SERVICE SUSPENDED FOR THREE DAYS

The Jaffar Express has been suspended for three days due to the law and order situation. According to Railway authorities, there will be no service for March 12, 13, and 14.

TRAIN SCHEDULES DISRUPTED

The train schedule from Lahore to Karachi and other cities has been disrupted. Karachi-bound Karakoram and Karachi Express will not operate today, confirms Lahore Division spokesperson.

Passengers will be adjusted on other trains. Jaffer Express will also not depart for Quetta today.

Passengers can claim ticket refunds at Lahore Reservation Office or the nearest reservation center.

TRAIN SERVICE FROM QUETTA STATION SUSPENDED

Train services from Quetta to other parts of the country have been suspended indefinitely after the terrorist attack on Jaffar Express.

Railway officials confirmed that no trains would depart from Quetta until further notice due to security concerns.

Passengers can get ticket refunds from the Lahore reservation office or the nearest reservation center.
