Isolated rain likely in Islamabad today – HUM News


ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast chances of isolated rain in parts of Islamabad on Saturday.

According to the Met Office, showers are also expected in Murree, Galiyat, Sialkot, Narowal, Gujrat, and Jhelum, while thunderstorms may occur in Kohistan, Swat, Battagram, Dir, and Abbottabad.

The PMD said southern parts of Balochistan will remain partly cloudy, whereas most districts of Sindh are likely to experience hot and dry weather.

Gilgit-Baltistan is also expected to remain warm and dry, while some areas of Azad Kashmir may receive thunder and rain.

Water level rises at Guddu, exceptionally high flood at Panjnad

In Lahore, clear skies and sunshine have been reported. The city’s current temperature is 29°C, with a maximum of 34°C expected later in the day.

Humidity has been recorded at 80 per cent, with light winds blowing at 2 km/h.

RIVERS SITUATION

The Flood Forecasting Division has warned of high flood levels in the Chenab and Indus rivers, while water discharge has also increased in the Sutlej.

At Panjnad headworks on the Chenab River, an exceptionally high flood has been recorded with water discharge reaching 590,382 cusecs.

The Indus River at Guddu Barrage is also experiencing a high flood, with outflow measured at 514,051 cusecs. Meanwhile, Sukkur Barrage faces a medium flood with 422,400 cusecs of water discharge.

On the Sutlej River, low flood levels have been reported at Ganda Singh Wala and Sulemanki headworks. Water discharge at Ganda Singh Wala is 78,492 cusecs, while Sulemanki recorded 79,351 cusecs, according to the Flood Forecasting Division.
