ISLAMABAD: Strict security arrangements have been made in the federal capital, and a high alert has been sounded after the attack on the Jaffar Express.
Jaffar Express, transporting more than 400 passengers from Quetta to Peshawar, was attacked by a group of terrorists. Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) has accepted the responsibility for the attack. More than 17 hours after the attack, the security operation is still underway.
Military officials confirmed that 155 passengers have been rescued and 27 terrorists have been killed, but no verified information is available about the remaining individuals.
As per media reports, security has been put on high alert in the federal capital Islamabad after the Balochistan incident and extraordinary security arrangements have been made outside the Islamabad Police Lines.
The road adjacent to the Police Lines, IG Office, has been closed on one side, while the gate on the highway leading to the Police Lines has also been closed.

Additional police commandos have also been deployed outside the Police Lines.
Barbed wire has been laid outside the Islamabad Police Lines by placing concrete blocks.
