ISLAMABAD: All schools being run under the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) will remain open tomorrow (Saturday) despite being Saturday off, to make up for the loss of time due to local holidays announced for the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO).
A notification to this effect has been issued.
Federal Board cancels today’s papers
According to the notification, in view of the recent suspension of academic activities due to the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation, it has been decided that Saturday (October 19) will be observed as a working day across all schools in Islamabad under the ambit of Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) to ensure that the academic calendar remains uninterrupted and the syllabus is fully covered.
“This will allow for makeup classes to recover the instructional time lost during the conference days and to continue with other planned activities”, said the notification.
