LAHORE: Social media is buzzing with speculation over the health of Maryam Nawaz, Chief Minister of Punjab and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader, as she undergoes medical tests in Geneva.
Concerns about Maryam Nawaz diagnosis of throat cancer have resurfaced, though her party has denied any confirmed diagnosis.
According to senior journalist Mansoor Ali Khan. Khan, a well-known anchorperson with HUM News, disclosed in his recent vlog that Maryam’s medical evaluation is focused on her thyroid, for which she had previously sought treatment.
Khan revealed that two years ago, Maryam Nawaz had thyroid-related health concerns, raising initial fears of cancer. However, after thorough evaluations, doctors ruled out any malignancy, providing her with a “clean chit.” She underwent successful throat surgery in Geneva in early 2023, addressing the primary concerns.

Her current visit to Geneva, according to Khan, is part of a scheduled follow-up to monitor her health, with test results expected within three days. The outcome of these tests will determine if further intervention is required.
PML-N representatives have firmly denied rumors of a diagnosis of cancer in Maryam Nawaz. Party sources clarified that while Maryam has dealt with health issues, there is no confirmation of a cancer diagnosis. They have criticized the circulation of these speculations, calling for respect for her privacy during this routine medical check-up.
Maryam’s recent hospitalization in Lahore for a throat infection prompted the Geneva trip. She was initially set to travel earlier this month, but doctors advised a delay until her condition stabilized
