ISLAMABAD: Indian Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar arrives in Islamabad, and was received by the offcials of Pakistan’s Foreign Office.
This marks a rare high-level engagement between the two neighbouring countries amid ongoing tensions. The last visit of such sort between the two countries took place in May 2023 when the-then foreign minister of Pakistan Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari went to India to attended the SCO foreign ministers’ meeting.
Earlier, Jaishankar said that he is not going to Islamabad to discuss “India-Pakistan relations” but his visit is all about the multilateral event, which is the SCO Summit 2024.
