Humaira Asghar: What does the postmortem report reveal? – HUM News

KARACHI: The post-mortem of renowned model and actress Humaira Asghar has been completed at Jinnah Hospital, with the cause of death reserved until the final report is received.

According to reports, investigations are underway after the decomposed body of Humaira Asghar was discovered in an apartment on the fourth floor of a residential building in the Ittehad Commercial Area, Defence Phase 6, under the jurisdiction of Gizri Police Station.

Late at night, the body was brought to Jinnah Hospital for autopsy, which has now been completed. The body has since been moved to the morgue.

According to Police Surgeon Dr. Summaiya Syed, the body was badly decomposed, and the exact cause of death will be determined once the post-mortem report is finalized.

According to the police, two mobile phones have been recovered which belong to Humaira. The phones have been sent to the forensic lab for data extraction. According to the call log retrieved from the phones her last call was made on October 2024.

According to SSP South, it is possible that Humaira was using a third phone, which she might have been actively using to stay in touch with someone.

However, any conclusive statement about the incident at this stage would be premature. Further clarity will emerge once expert analyses and reports are received.

Humaira Asghar’s father refuses to collect remains

He added that the apartment where Humaira lived has not yet been fully searched. The judicial bailiff stated that a report of the initial findings must be submitted to the court before the apartment can be unsealed and a complete search carried out.

The SSP also mentioned that if any suspicious evidence is found in the post-mortem, efforts will be made to file a case on behalf of the family.

However, Humaira’s father has refused to come to Karachi or receive the body. Authorities are trying to persuade him, but if the family declines, a case will be registered by the police as the complainant.

He further noted that no one from the showbiz industry or Humaira’s acquaintances has contacted the police so far.

Even neighbors reported not seeing her recently. CCTV footage from the area has been reviewed, but no recordings show Humaira entering or leaving, nor has anyone else been seen entering her apartment.

The SSP concluded that various aspects of the incident are being investigated, and any developments in the case will be shared with the public as they emerge.
