ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) announced a hearing date for the disqualification proceedings involving Senator Shahadat Awan, Senator Saifullah Abro, and Member of the National Assembly (MNA) Sohail Sultan.
The hearing has been set for October 21.
Sohail Sultan is a notable participant in this case, currently serving as a member of the National Assembly. He won the 2024 general elections from the NA-4 Swat constituency, running as an independent candidate and garnering 88,009 votes.
Sultan took office on February 29 and is linked to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), despite his independent candidacy in the recent elections.
He has also been associated with the Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) since 2024.
Similarly, Senator Saifullah Abro is from Larkana and has been a member of the Senate since March 2021. He is affiliated with the PTI as well.

Meanwhile, Senator Shahadat Awan has been serving in the Senate since March 2021 as a member of the Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarians (PPP).
