Govt considering deployment of paramilitary forces amid PTI protest – HUM News


ISLAMABAD: The federal government is considering deploying paramilitary forces in Islamabad ahead of the November 24 protest call by the Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaaf (PTI).

According to sources, the govt has contacted the relevant departments and requisitioned for 9000 FC and Rangers troops with complete anti-riot kits.

Rangers and FC personnel will help the Islamabad police to maintain law and order during the PTI’s protest. 

Meanwhile, the Islamabad administration has imposed Section 144 for two months ahead of the PTI’s protest and possible sit-in in the capital.

PTI founding leader Imran Khan has called for a nationwide protest on November 24 and has asked his followers to march towards Islamabad and sit-in till their demands are met.
