Gold prices decline in global and local markets – HUM News

KARACHI: Gold prices fell in both international and local markets on Tuesday.

In the international bullion market, the price of gold dropped by $6 per ounce, settling at $2,653.

Locally, the price of 24-carat gold declined by Rs700 per tola, bringing the rate to Rs275,000.

Similarly, the price per 10 grams fell by Rs600 to Rs235,768.

Meanwhile, the price of silver remained steady, with 24-carat silver per tola unchanged at Rs3,050 and per 10 grams at Rs2,614.88.

On the other hand, the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) began the week on a downward trend, with the benchmark index shedding over 200 points as political instability and foreign outflows weighed heavily on investor sentiment.

Although the market started the session on a positive note, with the KSE-100 index touching an intra-day high of 86,105 points, the optimism quickly faded. Profit-taking across various sectors led to a gradual decline, with the index eventually slipping below the 86,000 points mark.
