“Terrorists cannot break our morale, and citizens and the police will continue to unite to fight terrorism. Attacking a sacred place like Madrassa Haqqania is a cowardly act by anti-state elements,” Hameed said.
Jamaat-e-Islami Chief Siraj-ul-Haq, who was also in attendance, condemned the blast and said that it was a moment of deep sorrow for the community.
“The perpetrators of such attacks have no religion, and their motives remain unclear. The National Action Plan is not being implemented, while the federal and provincial governments are fighting and others take advantage of their situation,” he said.
He added that the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have been abandoned, and the entire region has turned into a war zone: “The central government must bring all stakeholders together to restore peace, because without it, neither democracy nor politics nor the country can survive.”
