Friday weather: scorching heat and possible rain on cards today – HUM News

WEB DESK: This Friday, the weather across most of the country will be hot and humid, with extremely hot conditions expected in the plains during the daytime, predicts the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).

However, a change in the weather is expected later in the day as rain, accompanied by gusty winds and thundershowers, is forecasted for several regions. There are also expectations of a monsoon spell, starting this week, in a much needed respite from the persistent heatwave.

Going region by region, Islamabad and its surrounding areas can expect hot and partly cloudy conditions. While the day will be sweltering, there is a chance of rain with strong winds and thundershowers in the evening or night.

In Punjab, most districts will experience hot and dry weather, with the plains facing intense heat during the day. However, rain, accompanied by gusty winds and thundershowers, is expected at a few places in the northeastern districts such as Murree, Galiyat, Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Sialkot, Narowal, Gujranwala, and Lahore. The weather will be partly cloudy, and residents should be prepared for sudden rain and wind in these areas as well, PMD said.

Likewise, hot and dry conditions will prevail in most districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, with intense heat expected in the plains during the daytime. However, in areas like Haripur, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Malakand, Kohistan, and nearby regions, rain with strong winds and thundershowers may offer some respite in the evening.

Sindh too, will see hot and humid weather throughout the province, with the intense heat concentrated in the upper and central districts. While the coastal districts may experience light rain or brief downpours, most areas will remain partly cloudy.

Balochistan is expected to face hot and dry conditions in most districts, with intense heat gripping the southern and eastern regions during the day. Strong, dusty winds are also anticipated.

In Kashmir, partly cloudy weather will prevail, with strong winds and thundershowers expected at a few places, especially later in the day. However, Gilgit-Baltistan will remain hot and dry on Friday.
