Friday predicted to be rainy in Pakistan – HUM News


WEB DESK: On Friday, weather conditions are expected to remain hot and humid in most parts of the country, followed by strong winds and thundershowers at several locations, Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) predicts.

The windy phenomenon is most likely in Southeast and Lower Sindh, Northeast and South Balochistan, Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Northeast and South Punjab, Pothohar region, and Kashmir.

Going region by region, the PMD predicts that Islamabad and its surrounding areas will be hot and humid, with partly cloudy skies with a chance of rain and thundershowers. Friday morning brought a gentle drizzle for Islamabad as well.

In Punjab, hot and humid conditions are expected throughout most districts. However, rain with strong winds and thundershowers may occur in areas including Murree, Galiyat, Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Attock, Chakwal, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Kasur, Mandi Bahauddin, Okara, Dera Ghazi Khan, Multan, Khanewal, Bahawalnagar, Bahawalpur, Rahim Yar Khan, and surrounding areas. Some locations may experience heavy rainfall during this time.

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa too, the weather will remain mostly hot and humid, with a possibility of rain and thundershowers in places like Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Malakand, Bajaur, Shangla, Battagram, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Peshawar, Mardan, Swabi, Charsadda, Nowshera, and nearby areas.

Most districts in Sindh will experience hot and humid conditions as well. However, light to moderate rain with strong winds and thundershowers are possible in Tharparkar, Umerkot, Mirpur Khas, Sanghar, Sukkur, Khairpur, Hyderabad, Thatta, Badin, and Karachi. Heavy rainfall may also occur in some locations.

Balochistan will also see hot and humid weather across most districts. Rain with strong winds and thundershowers is expected in areas like Barkhan, Kohlu, Musakhel, Dera Bugti, Loralai, Sibi, Qila Abdullah, Quetta, Ziarat, Bolan, Zhob, Kalat, Mastung, Khuzdar, Awaran, Kharan, Lasbela, and surrounding regions. Some of these areas may experience heavy or thunderous rain.

In Kashmir, the weather will be cloudy with rain, strong winds, and thundershowers expected at some locations. However, in Gilgit-Baltistan, hot and dry weather conditions are likely to prevail.
