Former ticket-holders from South Punjab distance themselves from TLP – HUM News

LAHORE: Former ticket holders of the now-banned Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) from South Punjab announced their disassociation from the party’s violent politics, saying their first loyalty is to Pakistan’s stability and security.

Addressing a press conference, the former ticket-holders declared that they stand firmly with the armed forces of Pakistan in defending the country against internal and external threats. “We are all Pakistanis, and for us, Pakistan comes first,” they said.

Former TLP candidate Muhammad Hussain Babar said the armed forces gave a befitting response to Indian aggression, adding that calling for strikes amid external challenges was an “irresponsible and inappropriate move.”

The group said that their decision to part ways with the banned organisation was made voluntarily and without any external pressure, out of respect for the sacrifices of the martyrs.

They also voiced solidarity with the people of Palestine, expressing hope that peace was gradually being restored there.

“There was no justification for violent protests,” they said.

The former candidates vowed that Pakistan will remain strong forever and warned that enemy forces’ designs will never succeed. “Pakistan cannot afford any internal unrest, and no one can cast an evil eye on our country,” they said.
